Do you have sat nav for Cyprus?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

We regularly get asked if we provide satellite navigation for the popular holiday destination of Cyprus. Whilst we do have mapping available for mainland Greece there is not currently any mapping available, certainly not from TomTom anyway, that covers Cyprus. What is also interesting is that even Google maps do not display any roads for Cyprus but there are roads for mainland Greece. So basically if you are travelling to Cyprus, for the time being, I would recommend resorting to old fashion navigation techniques such as a compass!! If you do know the real reason why Cyprus does not have GPS mapping available then we would be interested to hear from you so please leave your comments below.

What countries do we cover?

When we first started hiring satellite navigation the only countries on offer were the UK and Western Europe. That was just 3 years ago, since then we have added the following mapping to our range:

UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore and Hong Kong.

What mapping is around the corner?

TomTom has recently introduced mapping for Malaysia to its range, according to the TomTom website there are  54.5% of roads covered but all major cities such as Kuala Lumpur are covered. Also, all the major roads are covered as well as 48,000 points of interest.

As you can see from the list of countries I have listed above more and more countries are now mapped making car navigation easier than ever but unfortunately, although I do not have the answer as to why not, we do not have a sat nav for Cyprus!!!
