Holiday Autos Partnership

Zintech are pleased to announce that they have teamed up with Holiday Autos,  the world’s largest and leading leisure car hire broker, to provide a sat nav hire solution for its customers travelling to and from the UK.

Holiday Autos customers can now pre-book a sat nav for effortless navigation throughout all seven continents in over forty countries. The hire process involves the customer being able to take delivery of the unit in the UK then posting it back in the provided packaging to Zintech when finished. Additionally, hiring a sat nav with Zintech demonstrates savings of up to 60% compared to car hire suppliers rates with a bonus 5% discount provided through the Holiday Autos website.

Satellite Navigation has become an essential piece of equipment for holiday makers and business travellers hiring a car abroad. Zintech started their sat nav (known as GPS in other countries) hire business in 2005 having identified that the car rental suppliers could only allocate a unit upon arrival at the car rental desk. For the first time these customers wishing to drive in foreign countries could pre-book a sat nav for their car and even now most car hire suppliers still do not provide a way to guarantee a pre-booked a sat nav.

Zintech’s sat nav products will feature on the Holiday Autos UK website through their recently launched holiday extras page found at www.holidayautos.co.uk/travel-extras/

Sat Nav Hire for Thomson Al Fresco Customers

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

We are proud to announce we have recently partnered with Thomson Al Fresco holidays. Thomson offer luxury mobile home holidays with 45 parcs across Europe including France, Spain, Italy, Croatia and the Netherlands. The parcs offer an excellent alternative to either staying in a draughty tent or a poky hotel room. Simply put, the parcs offer an upmarket camping experience. The luxury mobile homes consist of 2 to 3 bedrooms with spacious living areas, air conditioning, modern kitchen areas and power showers. Outside the home you have your own private decked veranda to enjoy Al Fresco living!

The parcs offer excellent facilities including large outdoor swimming pools, water parks, children play centres, eateries, gyms, spas and entertainment. Al Fresco holidays are also ideal for couples as well as families and selected parcs feature an Al Fresco kids club.  In school term time the parcs are naturally quieter and provide an excellent base to relax and visit the surrounding areas which are full of history and stunning scenery.

There are many ways to travel to the parcs either by road and ferry, rail or by air and Thomson Al Fresco will assist you with all your travel requirements. For those who choose to drive we are offering Al Fresco customers the opportunity to hire a sat nav from us at a specially discounted rate to enable finding the parcs even easier.

The Thomson Al Fresco website is full of information about the parcs and has an online booking facility.

Don’t be victim of Sat Nav theft this Summer

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Sat Nav theft is on the increase and fairly prevalent. As the Summer now approaches Sat Nav users need to be more vigilant as I know a few unfortunate victims of this type of crime.

A friend of mine recently went to a football match in the North of England. Leaving early on a Saturday with a couple of hundred miles to drive, he made it with plenty of time and no hassles thanks to his Sat Nav. He decided to stop off at a service station for something to eat and on his return noticed the car window was smashed and his Sat Nav stolen. The scary thing is he was only away from the car for five minutes, the car park was quite busy and it was broad daylight.

He called the police to report the crime then waited for the car windsreen company to fix the window an to add insult to injury he missed the whole match he wanted to see so much.

I’ve had a Sat Nav for a number of years and never had any problems like this and the reasons are simple, I never leave anything on view which shows an opportunistic or desperate thief there is anything valuable in my car.

Here are the methods I use to prevent my Sat Nav from being stolen:

Remove it from the windscreen or dash even if you are leaving the car for a very short time, thieves can smash and grab in seconds and as my friend found out they are only getting bolder.

Consider removing the mount as well, it’s a giveaway you own a Sat Nav and thieves will assume it’s in the glovebox, under the seat or even in the boot.

On colder days condensation can get between the mount and the windscreen which is another telltale sign. Ensure you wipe the mark away when you remove the mount.

Why not take the Sat Nav with you? Most units these days are very portable and not much bigger than a mobile phone. Even if your car is broken into then at least you can take some satisfaction that you’ve not got to replace it as well as your window.
